Take Action: Actions you can take without leaving your home
This is a new section of the Take Action page. This section focuses on action you can take to help animals and people during times of crisis such as the Coronavirus lock downs or indeed any crisis which means you are unable to leave your home.
During this difficult time when much of the world's population is confined to their homes it can seem as though all the activism of previous months even years has come to a grinding halt and there is little we can do. Frankly on a personal level this is nothing new to me as most of my activism takes place on line as I am not in a position to actively campaign in real time such as supporting demonstrations, attending meetings and so on.
There is much that can be done without ever leaving your home, such as letter writing, signing petitions even preparing projects for future activism when hopefully things have changed
Below is a short list of actions which can be taken from home.
Petitions
The easiest way is to simply sign online petitions. Here are a two of the most urgent
Covid19: Sign the call for an urgent global ceasefire

Petition websites
Donations
Only give if you can afford to.
This campaign helps both people and animals
"I just received an urgent cry for help from Nashulai, the award-winning Maasai-led nature conservancy in Kenya that our movement helped to launch.
COVID-19 has devastated Nashulai, and the people behind this amazing conservation project are staring starvation and destitution in the face. The conservancy relies on tourism, and it's collapsed. As a result, there have been massive job losses amongst the Maasai who live there. There's no money, no food, and no healthcare. With rangers laid off, and poverty rising, poachers could soon prey on the conservancy’s amazing wildlife."

Write letters/email to help animals
Below is a link to VIVA - "Viva! campaigns for a vegan world because taking life unnecessarily is obscene, damaging and plain wrong. Taking the life of an animal who does not want to die is a profoundly terrible act and yet committed so casually in our culture."
LOCAL PAPER LETTERS PAGE EMAIL ADDRESSES
Local newspaper letters pages are read by thousands and published letters from Viva! supporters always generate a good response. Contacts also write protest letters to local companies and restaurants if they are concerned about products which they sell and they regularly have success. Viva! provides standard letters to help you and our leaflets and guides are also a good source of information.
Many campaigners also do things to attract the attention of the media – a story in the local paper or on local radio can reach tens of thousands of people.
